WOHS boys' hoops to hold 'Final Four' Fund-raiser dinner

The West Orange High School boys’ varsity basketball team recently completed an impressive season.
Every summer the Mountaineers play their “second season.”
The team spends many hot summer nights battling some of the state’s top teams in often quite expensive summer leagues.
This annual ritual is a key component in preparing for the next scholastic season.
The coaches volunteer their time and the team is responsible for paying all fees. This summer, the financial burden on the boys and their families will be significantly lightened through the combined efforts of the West Orange Elks #1590 and the West Orange Basketball Club.
The Elks and the WOBC are holding a “Final Four” Beefsteak Fund-raiser on April 3 from 5:30 to 11 p.m. The event is scheduled for the Elks Lodge at 424 Main St. in West Orange. The cost is $35 per person and includes all you can eat filet mignon, refreshments and a big-screen viewing of the NCAA Men’s Basketball National Semifinal doubleheader.
All are welcome.
WOHS head coach Mark Cacciacarne is thrilled by the community support.
“I’m awed by the Elks, the WOBC and also the Rec Department for stepping in to help,” he said. “In these tough financial times, these funds will really help the kids and their parents.”
Tickets are on sale at the WO Elks, 424 Main St., and at the West Orange Recreation Department, 60 ½ Cherry St. (Colgate Park).
Tickets can also be secured directly through Cacciacarne by calling 201-681-7240 or through email at mcacciacarne@woboe.org.
