Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-8), the author of the Concussion Treatment and Care Tools (ConTACT) Act, addressed student-athletes, coaches and athletic trainers at the Super Essex Conference Sportsmanship Summit at Bloomfield High School on Aug. 26, and spoke about protecting student-athletes from the dangers of sports-related concussions.

SHP soccer team is loaded, looks to defend state crown

The Seton Hall Prep varsity soccer team, under head coach Marty Berman, enjoyed a magical season last year, as the Pirates captured the state championship to cap a 20-2-1 campaign.
With a strong returning nucleus, the Pirates are poised to duplicate last season’s remarkable success.
In fact, the Pirates are ranked No. 2 in the nation in the preseason by ESPN Rise Fab 50.

Preseason helps prepare WOHS boys' soccer team

Head coach Doug Nevins is certainly excited about what his West Orange High School boys’ varsity soccer team could achieve this season.
And with the talented schools that the coach lined up to scrimmage his team, the Mountaineers will find out quickly just how good they really are.

At 10:13am on January 5, 2010, MCRC PT/Pyramid Fitness said…: Andre Callender now training athletes at Pyramid Fitness In West Orange. Andre graduated from Seton Hall Prep in 2003. He earned SuperPrep All-America honors as a senior running back at Seton Hall Prep and named to Tom Lemming's All-East team in 2002. He was a two-time All-State and three-time All-County selection, gained All-Iron Hills Conference accolades in 2000, 2001 and 2002 and earned a spot on the New Jersey Coaches Association's Super 100. He was selected to the 2002 Tri-State Heisman Team and holds the Seton Hall Prep record for career rushing yards with 4,370; ran for a single-season record 1,772 yards as a junior and rushed for 1,450 yards as a senior. He scored six touchdowns in one game - against Livingston - in 2001. Andre also earned All-State honors in track; was one of the nation's top high school hurdlers (110m high hurdles). He went on to have an outstanding football career as a running back at Boston College. He Earned All-ACC second-team honors and set a BC single-season receptions record with 76 grabs (for 720 yards) and had a team-high 13 touchdowns on the year (9 rushing, 4 receiving). Upon graduation, he finished fifth on the BC all-time rushing list with 2,971 yards.

Andre recieved his Personal Trainer Certification from the International Fitness Association. At the NFL Combine on Tue, 25 Mar 2008, He ran 10 yards in 1.59 seconds, 20 yards in 2.58 seconds and the 40-yard dash in 4.40 seconds. He ran the short shuttle in 4.34 seconds, the long shuttle in 11.58 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.86 seconds. He measured a 30 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-3 broad jump and completed 16 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press. Due to injuries, Andre’s career was cut short.
