Pro Soccer Player Working for JAG PT

Meghan Schnur knows what it’s like to be injured and anxious to get back into the action, and she knows how important physical therapy is to a quick recovery.
Schnur, a professional soccer player and member of the U.S. national team, has joined JAG Physical Therapy to put her complementary talents – as a high-level athlete and a physical therapist – to work to benefit patients. She is quickly becoming a “star” therapist when she is not excelling on the soccer field.
“I think it’s fantastic that she’s joined us,” said John A. Gallucci, Jr., founder and president of JAG Physical Therapy. “She understands the concept of wanting to get back to the action after an injury. Meghan puts all her knowledge and experience into that to try to get that done. Our patients have really been impressed with her treatment sessions. She also is working with a staff that is excited to have her expertise and knowledge.”
Schnur just turned 25 and is a defender for Sky Blue FC of Women’s Professional Soccer which won the league title in 2009. She has earned five caps as a member of the U.S. women’s national team.
She learned her trades both on and off the field at the University of Connecticut. She was an All-American and three-time All-BIG EAST player for the Huskies, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a five-year physical therapy program. Her collegiate years were very important.
“Physical therapy is something I wanted to be involved with,” she said. “I really enjoy it and I see the benefits on a daily basis.”
Despite the demands on her time, with practices, video sessions, team meetings, marketing appearances and, of course, games, she finds time to work in JAG’s

center. Sky Blue plays its games at Rutgers’ Yurcak Field in Piscataway, which is a short hop from Warren.

Don't miss this...JAG Physical Therapy will co-sponsor the long-delayed rematch of two high school hockey teams whose showdown for a state championship was derailed by a measles outbreak in 1989.
JAG, New Jersey's leader in physical therapy with facilities in West Orange, Warren and soon in Hackensack, will provide trainers when alumni hockey players from Delbarton School of Morristown and St. Joseph's High School of Montvale meet to play for charity in "The Greatest Game Never Played" on April 3 at Mennen Arena in Morris Township.
In 1989, the eagerly anticipated New Jersey State Ice Hockey Championship between Delbarton and St. Joseph's was cancelled due to a measles outbreak and the teams were declared co-champions. Twenty-one years later, the teams will play for the benefit of their schools and Hockey Fights Cancer, a charitable initiative of the National Hockey League and NHL Players Association. For more information on the game, go online at http://www.frozenflashback.com/.
