Mission and Vision
The mission of PASSE is to facilitate communication between students, parents, staff, the Board of Education, and the community, with regard to issues surrounding the district's special education programs, for the purpose of advising the Board of Education and administration on matters pertaining to improving the quality of special education district-wide.
Founders
Laura LabLaura co-founded PASSE in 1997 along with Cynthia Bailey and Maxine Lome. She has served on a variety of committees and boards including Governor Whitman's Children Initiative Committee in 1997, has been Chairwoman of the Mayor's Program for Individuals with Disabilities since 1998, currently is Vice-President of the West Orange Board of Education and serves on the advisory board of the Essex County Services Commission, is a board member of the New Jersey Arts Incubator and is a member of the New Jersey School Board's Special Education Committee.

There are a variety of ways to get involved with PASSE.
- Start by applying! Print a Membership Form by downloading this PDF document. Then fill it out and mail it with your dues ($15 for one child, $20 for more than one) to:

- Communicate with other parents! You can sign up yourself or email mailman@wopasse.org to have an administrator do it for you.
- Interact at local events! Our calendar is here, and usually new events are posted on the home page.
- Volunteer! We have a variety of volunteer positions that we'd love your help on. Contact us at execboard@wopasse.org.
