Letter from Lautenberg

I have lived in West Orange for a little more than 12 years and in all that time I cannot recall the involvement of non-Township politicians in our local elections.

Today I received a letter, signed by Frank Lautenberg, supporting certain candidates for the council and mayoralty race in our town.  In what has traditionally been a non-partisan race, I find this outside incursion especially disturbing.  Why this man thinks his input is important to the citizens of West Orange is beyond me.  Unfortunately some may be influenced by this audacity.  I truly hope this is not the beginning of a trend in our local elections.
