SUPERHEROES TAKE OVER LIVINGSTON MALL
Comic book charity effort will benefit Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center
The Livingston Mall will be “invaded” by spandex-clad heroes, monsters, funny-talking animals, space men and an assortment of other colorful comic book characters on Saturday, April 24 (10AM-8PM) as “Superheroes for Hospice” takes over the shopping center.
The effort, which will benefit the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center of West Orange, features appearances by a host of notable writers and artists who will be signing autographs. The free event is designed to offer comic book fans a chance to enjoy their hobby in a casual setting. There will be comic books of all genres and from several decades available for sale.
Special guests include Jim Salicrup, former Spider-Man editor and current editor-in-chief of PaperKutz Comics; Archie artists Fernando Ruiz, Jeff Shultz and Glenn Whitmore; Archie editor-writer and co-creator of Mecha Manga Bible Heroes Paul Castiglia; Thomas Hall, writer and co-creator of Robot 13 and Mecha Manga Bible Heroes; John-Marc Grob, artist-creator of the FriendFish animated series and president of JMG Studio; sketch card and Femforce comic artist Manny Mederos; illustrator Bobby Vala, who has designed several action figures for Mattel and Hasbro Toys; Steve Conte, creator of Action Figure Kingdom; and Mike Arnold, creator of Jokester Magazine who will be doing caricatures at the show.
